CAT Overview
Common Admission Test is a national level examination which
is performed by the IIMs (Indian Institute of Management). The test is a
computer based included in the quantitative ability, verbal ability, data
interpretation and logical reasoning. Common Admission Exam is conducted every
year in the month of August- September or December. All the aspirants
should fill up the application form on or before the end date.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or
equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the aspirants belonging to Scheduled Caste
(SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD)/Differently Able
(DA) category) awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the
central or state legislature in India.
The percentage of marks obtained by the aspirant in the
bachelor’s degree would be intended based on the practice followed by the
university/institution from where the applicant has got the degree.
Applicants appearing for the final year of bachelor’s
degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have finished degree needs
and are awaiting results can also apply.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after intermediate/Post B.Sc./Post Diploma ) or B.E/B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, renowned by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE
- Any Education recognized by organization of Indian Universities New Delhi, which is equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree awarded by UGC recognized University/Institutions.
- Cases not covered above equivalency certificate to be shaped from organization of Indian Universities New Delhi.

Reserved seats: As
per the Government of India needs, 15% of the seats are reserved for SC and
7.5% for ST Aspirants. 27% of seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes applicants
belonging to the “non – creamy” layer (NC – OBC).

admission of the aspirants will be made on the basis of Personal Score In
Common Admission Test, Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

- Aspirants must go through online mode from official website www.iimcat.ac.in
- Using the system generated User ID and Password received, you can login as “Existing User” on the site and fill the Application Form.
- Then Fill Application Form which is categorized into the following five segments:

Passport Size Photograph and Signature
NC-OBC/SC/ST Certificate
PWD/DA Certificate
- (Upload the scanned picture of your passport photo within the dimensions of 35mm X 45mm. Also, upload the scanned picture of your signature within the dimensions of 80mm X 35mm. The documents file format must be a .jpg or .jpeg and the file size should not be more than 80KB each. The image must be clear with a minimum resolution of 150px/inch)
- Then you must payment the application fee.
- Post successful transaction of your expense, you will be redirected back to the site. A payment successful message will be showed on the screen along with the Payment Transaction Number and submit it successfully.
- You will also receive a confirmation email stating the successful submission of your Common Admission Test Application within a few minutes.
Admit Card &
Result: The admit Card for the registered applicants will be
issued on the official site from the mid of October to till the date
of examination. The Result will
be announced in the last week of December through the site /of the
authority.
