Required Qualification:
Applicants must have Bachelor’s degree. Applicants who belongs to General/ OBC
(NCL) Category should have possessed at least 55% aggregate marks without
rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including Languages and
Subsidiaries, all years combined).
Foreign Nationals may have minimum 50%
aggregate marks without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects,
including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined)
Candidates of SC/ ST and PwD Category
must have possessed at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree.
All students who have either appeared
or are due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree in
2019 are also eligible to appear in the test.

Joint Admission Test for each examination will be of three hours duration. All
the examination will be conducted in ONLINE mode only. Joint Admission Test for
M.Sc. examination will have seven test papers namely as:

Exam Pattern:
IIT JAM Examination will be held through online mode as a
Computer Based Test for entire Test Papers.
All 7 Test Papers of this test will be of objective type,
with 3 dissimilar patterns of questions which are mentioned below:
Multiple Choice Questions: Each MCQ
type question has 4 choices out of which only one choice is right answer.
Multiple Select
Questions (MSQ): Each MSQ type question is as same as Multiple Choice
Questions but the dissimilarity that there may be one or more than one choice
that are right out of four given choices.
Numerical Answer Type Questions: Each
NAT type question, answer is a signed real number which needs to be entered
using virtual keypad on screen. There will be No choices for these types of
questions.
