Ministry of Rural Development has launched Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana
(AGEY). Dear candidates this yojana will be implemented under Deendayal
Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
Dear candidates we are informing you that Ministry of
Rural Development is implementing DAY-NRLM in overall States and Union
Territories (except Delhi and Chandigarh). The states have been well-versed regarding
number of blocks allotted to them to implement this AGEY on the pilot

Dear candidates you should know that Aajeevika Grameen
Express Yojana has a particular focus on women empowerment by financially
helping the women belonging to women self help groups to make an alternate
livelihood. The Ministry has declared that AGEY will soon be implemented in 250
(two hundred fifty five) blocks across the country for a fixed time period of 3
years from 2018 to 2019-20.

Objectives
of Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana
Main purpose of Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana is to bestow
an alternative source of livelihoods to members of Self Help Groups (SHGs)
under DAY-NRLM.
Till now, 34.4 lakh women SHGs have been supported
under the programme. Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana will ensure providing all
facilities them to handle public transport services in backward rural areas.

- AGEY would ensure to provide safe, reasonably priced and community monitored rural transport vehicles to connect each remote villages with main services. The vehicles which will be used under the scheme are
- E-rickshaws
- 3 and 4 wheeler motorized transport vehicles
- Moreover, Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana would enable easy connectivity of rural remote areas with all facilities including access to markets, education and health for the overall economic development of the area.
Financially
Support Under Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana
- Government would bestow financial support under the AGEY in the form of Revolving Fund and Community Investment Funds.
- This fund would be given as grants to the Self Help Groups (SHGs) and their members/partnership. Therefore far, Central govt. has released a total amount of Rs. 1815 crore to about 3.96 lakh SHGs.
- Under Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY), One main provision has proposed that the Community Based Organisations (CBO) will give interest free loan from its own funds to Self Help Group member for purchase of the transport vehicle.
- This AGEY system will have a focus on women empowerment and it has been keen to promoting farm and non-farm based livelihoods for women farmers in rural areas.
