CDS Syllabus for English Language:
The question paper will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding of English and workmanlike use of words.

Syllabus for General Knowledge:
General Knowledge including knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject.
The paper will also include questions on History of India and Geography of a nature which candidate should be able to answer without special study.

  • CDS Exam Pattern for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy:
  • Union PSC CDS I examinations is a Pen paper based examination
  • There will be 3 sections in this exam
  • The duration of exam is of 6 hours
  • This is an Objective Type exam. Each question will have 4 options where only 1 option will be correct.
  • There is 0.33 negative marking for the incorrect answer and 1 mark is awarded for each correct option.

  • CDS UPSC examination is a pen paper based examination.
  • There will be 2 sections for CDS II exam.
  • Duration of Exam is 4 hours.
  • CDS I Examination is an Objective Type Questions. Each question will have 4 options where only 1 option will be correct.
  • Union PSC Combined Defense Services is conducted with 200 questions.
  • There is 0.33 negative marking for each incorrect answer and +0.8 mark is awarded for each correct option.
